Olive Leigh School began in 2002 with no discrimination on the basis of race, religion or gender and children with special needs are integrated into the general school population where possible. They cater for children from Grade 1 to Grade 12 and children remain with the same teacher for more than one year, and in one school up to matriculation.
They are dedicated to providing education uniquely crafted to identify and suit every learner strengths. There is an informal dress code.
They want to provide a home school ambiance and for this reason gifted and talented children are particularly well suited for the school.
All staff are qualified in their particular fields. Full-time staff are registered members of the South African council for educators. (SACE) and have received training from the GDE in the new national Curriculum. In 2007 the school achieved a 100% Matric pass rate!

The school was founded in 1994 and has.excellent facilities, well qualified staff and students who thrive under the superb conditions. It’s a co-ed school with classes from Grade 00 to Grade 12pected to be 2012. While its ethos is Christian it is a multi-cultural school with an emphasis on inclusion and tolerance.

The school started out in 1985 because of the need for remedial education in the Lowveld. They operate within a non-discriminatory, Christian ethos which we aspire to provide every pupil with the opportunities and skills to achieve to their full potential.
They cater for pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 9 with small classes. The school caters for students who are of average to above average intellect and who have barriers to effective learning. Classes are offered in both English and Afrikaans. They have a specialised team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Educational Psychologist and Remedial Therapists.
They follow a mainstream curriculum with the view to returning pupils to mainstream schools where appropriate.
They have a small, homely boarding facility which caters for boys only from Grade 4 to Grade 9 on a weekly basis.
Flamboyant School is an independent school with full membership of Independent Schools’ Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and Southern African Heads of Independent Schools Association (SAHISA).
They also have -
- a full sport programme – swimming, athletics, cross-country, soccer and netball
- formal music lessons for grades 1-4
- music and drama is presented to pupils in grades 5-9 in the formal Arts and Culture lessons
