Penryn is a Christian school with strong links to the Methodist Church and places importance on worship and Christian values. All classes have Religious Instruction as a compulsory subject on the curriculum.
They are a co-ed school from Grade 00 to Grade 12. They encourage their students to achieve individual academic excellence, enabling each one to be globally effective. They use a variety of teaching and learning approaches and techniques, including group work, individual teaching and research.
Scholars are required to do homework in all areas. This is a guide that enables them to plan their year’s work, ensuring they are not overburdened in any one week. Using this formula their scholars have achieved a 100% pass rate since 1998.
Grade 10 and 11 scholars write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) that is set by the Independent Examinations Board.
Physical education, with trained teachers, is an important part of the curriculum and this is complemented with extra-curricular activities.
